March 7, 2010 - Third Sunday of Lent
Fr. Bozada's Thank You....
Thank you for all your prayers, flowers, cards and food that was
donated to the Al Bozada family.
Eucharistic
Adoration...
2010 During the six weeks of Lent, we will place a special focus on
the spiritual and physical benefits of making a HOLY HOUR before Our
Lord exposed in the Blessed Sacrament. We are seeking to fill all of
the time slots Monday through Friday, from noon until 9pm each day. We
are less than half-way there. Hopefully, many will choose to take up
this holy and edifying spiritual activity. May we grow closer to Our
Lord in 2010, through Adoration of Him in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
Ministers, Lectors,
Servers, Sacristans and Ushers.... I am presently working on the
new list. Please call the office if you would like to be on the new
list for 2010-2011. I would like to complete the list by the middle of
April.
Servers Practice.... We will have a review on Sunday, March
14th at St. James after the 10am Mass. We will go out for lunch
afterwards.
Bulletin Ads... A
letter went out to all those who took adds last year. If you don't
presently have an ad, but would like to have one, please call the
office.
Catholic Annulments...
Often Catholics, who are remarried, will ask why an annulment frees an
individual to receive Holy Communion. A marriage covenant with the
Lord is a sacred vow broken only by death. Catholics take this
commitment seriously, even with non-Catholic marriages. An annulment
declares that even though a civil bond, recognized by the state, was
broken through divorce; a sacred bond may still exist. A Catholic
Annulment declares that the civil bond is broken; and that the sacred
bond never took place, thereby freeing a person to receive Holy
Communion again, and freeing them to enter into a marriage covenant
until death. Without this annulment, remarried Catholics are not free
to receive Holy Communion in the Catholic Church, and should refrain
from coming to receive Our Lord, until a Catholic Annulment has been
received.
